Watching the Bubbles Float By

May is a month of potentially dodgy weather in Calgary, but on the occurence of the 24th annual Lilac Festival we had a beautiful sunny day. This little tyke riding on Dad's shoulders is dressed for weather that nobody's worrying about in the slightest. Watching a flock of bright, sunlit bubbles float through the air is a far more important thing. Copyright © Royce Howland. All rights reserved.

Try the Water Buffalo Gelato

Bucking the trend of rain at this time of year, Calgary's 24th annual Lilac Festival enjoyed warm, sunny weather. It was a perfect day for a cold treat! A characteristically huge crowd of people showed up to enjoy the festival. At the Pimento's food truck, Chef Mario entices the crowd with his pizza and signature water buffalo gelato. Importance of First Impressions

At Calgary's 24th annual Lilac Festival, part of the fun is looking through booth after booth of wares, crafts, and food from the vendors lining the street. These colorful, goofy pottery fish were hanging around, looking for good homes. You only get one chance to make a first impression; putting your best face forward can be an important consideration!
